Sesto Robotics launches new autonomous mobile robot

Sesto Robotics has launched a new autonomous mobile robot designed to automate material handling processes in manufacturing, commercial and healthcare industries.

The Sesto Magnus is a a bi-directional, compact autonomous mobile robot able to carry loads up to 300 kg, and the company claims it has the “highest payload rating in the compact class”.

Geek+ partners with Kuecker to offer ‘smart logistics’ across North America

Amazon expands delivery robot trials to more US states

Amazon, the world’s biggest online retailer, is expanding its delivery robot trials to more US states.

The company had initially field tested its delivery robot in Snohomish County, in Washington state, as reported by Robotics and Automation News in January this year.

The deliveries in Washington were made using a robot called “Scout”, which look like they’re a modified version of Starship Technologies’ machine, and were being offered as part of Amazon’s Prime subscription service, which includes free deliveries on most orders. Dexterity launches new warehouse robots

Dexterity has launched its “full-stack, hardware-agnostic” robotic systems for warehouses.

The startup company says its robots allow customers to automate repetitive pick-pack tasks, and can handle complex manipulations in unpredictable environments.

Omron launches new autonomous mobile robot

Omron Automation Americas has launched the HD-1500 autonomous mobile robot, which it says can handle bulky objects weighing up to 1500 kg. (See video below.)

This addition to Omron’s robotics portfolio comes after the LD-250 mobile robot launch and further expands manufacturers’ options for autonomous material transport.

Rapid Growth of Autonomous Forklifts

Autonomously driven forklifts, whether in distribution centers, manufacturing, or some hybrid, are much more cost-effective than manned forklifts for extremely repetitive processes.

They can be integrated into continuous round-the-clock operations covering several shifts. Self-controlling these trucks can coordinate perfectly in terms of routing and speed. This enables material flows to maintain optimal levels and the energy consumption is kept to a minimum.

Geek+ extends warehouse robotics and automation partnership with Decathlon

Warehouse robotics and automation provider Geek+ has extended its cooperation with Decathlon, one of the world’s largest retailers of sporting goods, present in over 50 countries with more than 1,600 stores globally.

Following the success of a two-year collaboration in its e-commerce and retail fulfillment centers in Shanghai, Decathlon accelerated its automation program, with AMR deployments at two new sites in China.

XPO Logistics wins contract to build warehouse and distribution network for Greene King
