Boston Scientific introduces ‘touchless distribution’ at its distribution center

Boston Scientific has offices in more than 100 countries and says it is committed to changing lives through innovative medical solutions that improve the health of patients around the world. 

At the distribution center in Kerkrade, Boston Scientific began automating its distribution center in 2013. The aim of the manufacturer and distributor of medical products is: “touchless distribution”.

The implementation of intralogistics company Inther Group’s Automated Document Applicator (ADA) is an important part of this.

Geek+ powers remote operations and new deployments for Decathlon in China

Geek+, an autonomous mobile robot manufacturer, has extended its co-operation with Decathlon, one of the world’s largest retailers of sporting goods.

Decathlon is present in over 50 countries with more than 1,600 stores globally and has been partnering with Geek+ on a successful two-year collaboration in its e-commerce and retail fulfillment centers in Shanghai.

Decathlon has now accelerated its automation program, with AMR deployments at two new sites in China. The installations were implemented remotely in under three months, following strict pandemic restrictions. AutoStore reports record revenue growth for 2019

AutoStore, the Norwegian robot technology company, reported revenues of $195 million in 2019, up 36 percent from 2018.

The company generated earnings of $108 million following the “continued strong demand for automated warehouse solutions”.

Geek+ streamlines e-commerce supply chain company Winit’s warehouse operations

Geek+, an autonomous mobile robot manufacturer, is providing smart logistics solutions for to Winit, an integrated supply chain solutions provider for cross-border e-commerce.

Winit serves e-commerce leaders like eBay, and Geek+ says its robots will enable enable more efficient and flexible operations at Winit’s fulfillment center in Cincinnati, Ohio.

With an inventory subject to a wide variety of products, massive SKUs, and a rapid increase in online sales, Winit has been looking for solutions that can streamline their warehouse operations, mitigate against management issues due to high turnover of warehouse workers, and enable flexible yet affordable scaling of operations. Kivnon launches ‘AGV/AMR Exchange Program’ for its warehouse robots

Kivnon has launched a “AGV/AMR Exchange Program” for its warehouse robots – its automated guided vehicles as well as its autonomous mobile robots.

Kivnon says its customers can swap their old AGV or AMR and “save up to 40 percent on a brand-new” Kivnon warehouse robot.

US Senate to give green light to delivery robots on sidewalks

The US Senate is poised to give the green light to the operation of delivery robots on American sidewalks after a bipartisan North Carolina bill was passed in the House in a “near unanimous vote”, according to News Observer.

Delivery robots are being tested in several states across the US in strict accordance with specific agreements with local authorities.

Trapo unveils automated truck loading and unloading system

Trapo has unveiled an automated truck loading and unloading system – the Trapo TLS 3600.

The Trapo loading system (TLS) is a fully automated logistics solution for the efficient, inexpensive and safe loading and unloading of trucks and containers with pallets.

Scallog launches ‘Flexytote’ for its warehouse robots

Scallog has launched what it calls “Flexytote” – a shelf unit – for its warehouse robots.

The French designer and manufacturer of robotic solutions is expanding its range with a new solution dedicated to multi-bin transfer in warehouse.

Geodis implements Grenzebach AGV solutions for large warehouse operation

Over the past year, Grenzebach and Geodis, a global supply chain operator, have been engaged in a joint project setting up a Grenzebach Goods-to-Person solution for a large consumer electronics customer.

The Goods-to-Person solution has been installed at Geodis’ Nashville, Tennessee campus. It features Grenzebach L600 automated guided vehicles, mobile storage units and picking stations as well as software.

The project has been run as a pilot program, designed to make the jobs of Geodis teammates easier, safer and more productive. Following the success of the pilot program, Geodis is now introducing Grenzebach AGV solutions to additional clients.
