Blink partners with Tauriga to expand electric vehicle charging network

Tauriga Sciences subsidiary, Tauriga Biz Dev. Corp., has signed a reseller agreement with Blink Charging Company, owner, operator, and provider of electric vehicle charging equipment and networked charging services.

Under the terms of this agreement, Tauriga will help Blink expand its already significant USA electric vehicle charging network.

Commenting on this agreement, Tauriga’s CEO Seth M. Shaw said: “The company believes that Blink has built a unique infrastructure to service the rapidly growing electric vehicle market segment.

Drones are bridging the gap in US inspection technology

Drones and non-destructive testing devices are shaping the future of bridge inspection and rehabilitation, by helping to improve project safety, reduce costs, and create more efficient and sustainable methods.

There are critical infrastructure needs across North America, especially when it comes to bridges. In the U.S., for example, over 54,000 U.S. bridges are structurally deficient, which is nearly 9% of all bridges across the country.

Not only that, but assessing the current state of bridge infrastructure requires an increasing amount of time and resources – and there are no shortage of safety concerns.

Arup expands global architecture offering

Arup is expanding its global architecture offering, establishing teams in the Toronto, Frankfurt, Sydney and Singapore offices.

This adds to existing practices in London, Hong Kong, Milan, Berlin and Istanbul employing 250 architects. The practice is expected to double in size by 2020.

Arup’s architects are best known for the original concert hall at Snape Maltings, the masterplan for Broadgate in the City of London and Sky Studios in West London.

Formlabs takes 3D printing to Hannover

Formlabs, the designer and manufacturer of powerful and accessible 3D printing systems, demonstrated how additive manufacturing is changing the landscape for traditional manufacturing methods at this year’s Hannover Messe event.

At SAP’s booth, Form Cell, a fully automated 3D printing platform, was on display, printing factory-floor spare parts such as a gripper and valve along with customized plate cards and pens.

The print examples highlighted the strength of a product such as Form Cell in an industrial manufacturing or service provider environment where multiple prints need to be running simultaneously with different resin materials to make customized prints.

New mobility ecosystem from Toyota

Toyota‘s new mobility service business alliance and e-Palette concept vehicle have been designed to meet the demands of future multi-mode transportation and business applications.

The e-Palette Alliance will leverage Toyota’s proprietary Mobility Services Platform (MSPF) to develop a suite of connected mobility solutions and a flexible, purpose-built vehicle.

The alliance will create a broad-based ecosystem of hardware and software support designed to help a range of companies utilize advanced mobility technology to better serve customers.

Heidenhain to show off machine connection capability at IMTS

Universal Robots wins the DenmarkBridge Award 2018

Universal Robots received the DenmarkBridge Award 2018 from His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik at the Annual Meeting of The Danish Growth Fund.

The DenmarkBridge Award celebrates companies, organizations or individuals who have shown an ability to think bigger and aim for the unreachable.

The competition for the Award was tough, and among the many nominees, four went on to the final. Besides Universal Robots, the finalists were Netcompany, Joe & The Juice and Muuto.

Festo credits digitalisation for record growth in 2017

Festo recorded an increase in sales of over 12% to approximately €3.1 billion for the 2017 financial year. This positive development continued into the first quarter of 2018. The strongest driver of growth was the electronics industry.

With the “digital customer journey”, the company is placing the customers at the focus of its digitalisation strategy and is launching the first digital products on the market this year.

Festo reinforced its technological standing in late 2017 with the appointment to the Management Board of Dr. Frank Melzer, who will further advance the digitalisation of the core business and the future-oriented industries. The global workforce grew to 20,100.
