Fugro marine robots locate World War II ship 80 years after tragic sinking

In an extraordinary mission that took nearly five years of planning, Fugro has played a key role in locating the wreck of the Montevideo Maru, one of the worst international maritime disasters in history.

In close partnership with the Silentworld Foundation and the Rabaul and Montevideo Maru Society, and support from Australia’s Department of Defence, Fugro used their unparalleled deepwater hydrographic and oceanographic expertise to successfully identify the wreckage of the Japanese transport ship at a depth of more than 4,000 metres off the coast of the Philippines.

Delta provides EV charging solutions to Jaguar Land Rover Philippines

Delta Electronics Int’l (Singapore), a provider of power and thermal management solutions, installed the first electric vehicle charging station for a car manufacturer in the Philippines at the Coventry Motors Corporation Greenhills Showroom of Jaguar Land Rover Philippines.

Delta will supply AC Mini Plus chargers and DC Wallbox chargers to the showrooms and testing areas of Jaguar Land Rover Philippines located in 1008 EDSA Greenhills, San Juan and BGC, Taguig City.

Jaguar Land Rover Philippines has launched the Range Rover Sport HSE 2.0 Petrol PHEV, Range Rover Vogue 2.0 Petrol PHEV, Range Rover LWB Autobiography 2.0 Petrol PHEV and Jaguar I-PACE EV400 S models in the Philippines market. Mitsubishi Electric to set up industrial automation company in the Philippines

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation plans to establish a new company, MELCO Factory Automation Philippines Inc. (MELAP) in the Philippines, to further expand Mitsubishi Electric’s factory automation (FA) business in the country.

MELAP will be jointly established by Mitsubishi Electric, Setsuyo Astec Corporation (STC) and Integrated Factory Automation Inc. (IFA), a FA product distributor and long-time partner of Mitsubishi Electric in the Philippines.

The new company, which will start operating from June 2019, will provide sales and technical service for FA products.

The Philippines is a large, archipelagic country located approximately 3,000 kilometres from China.

Its population numbers more than 100 million and its main two ethnic groups are Visayan and Tagalog, each of which accounts for around 30 per cent of the population.

Universal Robots partners with AIM in the Philippines

Universal Robots aims to meet growing demand in the Philippines through its new partnership with Asia Integrated Machine, Inc. (“AIM”).

AIM, a machinery and automation solutions supplier, provides solutions for manufacturing firms, including processing, weighing, packaging, inspection, conveying, palletising and warehousing.

The partnership will see AIM deploy and offer customised automation solutions comprising end-effectors and accessories for UR’s collaborative robots (cobots).
