Carlsberg says it has almost eliminated the risk of accidents in its Fredericia plant, in Denmark.
The famous beer and beverage maker says it has achieved this by implementing collaborative robots from Universal Robots.

Warehouse automation company Geek+ Robotics says it has sold more than 10,000 units of its autonomous mobile robots.
The company has seen a dramatic increase in demand for warehouse robots from sectors such as e-commerce and automotive supply chains.

RE2 Robotics, a developer of human-like robotic manipulation systems, says it will “significantly increase” its hiring efforts in 2020.
This hiring push is a direct result of the company’s expansion into commercial markets last year, including the aviation, energy and medical industries.
RE2 expects to increase its staff by 50 percent by the end 2020. The company, which increased its staff by 32 percent in 2019, is seeking to add approximately 20 engineers in a variety of disciplines, including mechanical, electrical and software engineering. May Mobility, an autonomous transportation-as-a-service provider, has closed a $50 million Series B funding round led by Toyota.
There was also participation from Sparx Group, alongside return investors Millennium Technology Value Partners, Cyrus Capital Partners, BMW iVentures, and Toyota AI Ventures.

FLIR Systems has launched a camera which includes deep learning capabilities – the Firefly DL – for applications ranging from industrial inspection to autonomous driving and others.
Deep learning is a type of artificial intelligence which tends to ingest, or collect, far more data than does the machine learning method.

A company called Grote has demonstrated a robotic sandwich-making system which it developed in partnership with Stäubli Robotics. (See video below.)
Grote is a manufacturer of food processing equipment and the system it showcased at the International Baking Industry Exposition is said to be feature “robotic food contact for the first time in America”.

Boeing has reportedly abandoned the use of some robotic systems that were being used for fuselage work such as drilling and fastening.
According to the Seattle Times, the implementation of the robots “proved painful to set up and (was) error-prone”.
The news website quoted Jason Clark, Boeing vice president of 777/777X operations, who said back in 2015, when the robots were first introduced: “It’s a little tough in the teething. Automotive parts supplier Broman Group has appointed Swisslog to provide automation at its Logistics center in Kerava, Finland.
The new contract includes upgrading existing automation, the design and delivey of new automation, and also a SynQ, Swisslog’s warehouse management system, to orchestrate the entire warehouse solution.
