Getting Projects off the Ground with Outsourcing

February 2, 2021 by Polly

What works for the largest businesses doesn’t necessarily work for the smallest ones.

Startups in particular often lack the resources to pursue ideas for completely new projects and services because they may not have accumulated funds, or an experienced team, in order to begin development on the scope they desire.

Companies that want to increase their project output tend to benefit a lot from outsourcing development as a way to get around this. [Read more…] about Getting Projects off the Ground with Outsourcing

Why Manufacturers Should Consider Using a Cloud-based MES Platform

January 28, 2021 by Polly

Traditional manufacturing execution systems are deployed on a single machine that might be networked to a handful of terminals inside of a machine shop.

While this made sense in an era before widespread Internet adoption, it’s hopelessly dated today. Few people have the technology needed to turn their smart devices into antique telnet clients, and there are even less who would want to.

Cloud-based technology is a much better alternative, but adoption has been surprisingly slow. That’s causing many industry sectors to play a dizzyingly fast game of catch-up. [Read more…] about Why Manufacturers Should Consider Using a Cloud-based MES Platform

Car sharing promotes mobility turnaround in Luxembourg

January 26, 2021 by David Edwards

MOQO app assures easy operation and good service

Luxembourg is also working intensively on the transport revolution. The Duchy received a lot of attention when it became the first country in the world to introduce free local transport at the end of February 2020.

Even before that, a nationwide car sharing system was established with FLEX Carsharing, which is to be further expanded. FLEX provider CFL Mobility wants to use MOQO’s Shared Mobility Platform in the future. The know-how of the Shared Mobility experts from Aachen is increasingly in demand in more and more countries.

Luxembourg is the country in the EU with the highest level of individual ownership. Reasons for this are the high level of prosperity, favourable company car practices and a very good road infrastructure. However, the infrastructure could not prevent the high number of vehicles from leading to traffic chaos. [Read more…] about Car sharing promotes mobility turnaround in Luxembourg

Automating Performance Metrics: Start with Demand and Inventory Forecasting

January 26, 2021 by David Edwards

By Mike Mills, Director, Business Consulting, Blue Ridge

2021 is the year when companies need earlier insights into new market opportunities, including what items consumers want, on what channel, how much they should stock, and how much they will pay for these products.

The ability to compete in new areas with this level of agility will be the key to unraveling chaos. As e-commerce continues to threaten the market with competitive products that are available nearly instantly, shifting consumer trends can make stocking shelves even more challenging.

Two-thirds of distributors, retailers, and manufacturers report that transportation, labor, and goods were rising more quickly than in previous years. Automation has become a full imperative; Covid has magnified the need. [Read more…] about Automating Performance Metrics: Start with Demand and Inventory Forecasting

Seegrid doubles revenues and sees ‘record adoption’ of its autonomous mobile robots

January 15, 2021 by David Edwards

Seegrid, a provider of autonomous mobile robots for material handling, says it doubled revenue year-over-year for the second year in a row.

Seegrid says its growth reflects increased demand from manufacturing, e-commerce, and logistics companies for automation solutions to address rising pressures on the supply chain, which were exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic and ever-evolving consumer demands.

Jim Rock, Seegrid’s CEO, says: “The incredible growth we recorded last year is a testament to our collective ability to adapt to changing environments – something that our customers can uniquely do when using our automation solutions. Digital platform wants to put a robot into every factory

January 13, 2021 by Mark Allinson

Too many small- and medium-sized businesses risk losing out on the next big industry transformation, says Søren Peters, CEO of the world’s first digital robot hub, HowToRobot.com. The hub aims to increase robot adoption globally by breaking down the barriers to automation for smaller businesses.

Robots are spreading with haste among the largest enterprises globally. But the many small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) are lagging behind when it comes to adopting robots.

This, however, is bound to change. The digital robot hub HowToRobot.com now aims to get a robot into every factory across the world by making automation easier and more accessible for SMEs. [Read more…] about Digital platform wants to put a robot into every factory
