Universal Robots to host ‘largest collaborative robot conference and trade show’ in North America

Collaborative robots (cobots) are the fastest-growing segment of industrial automation with the global market forecasted a skyrocketing 20+ percent growth through 2028.

Universal Robots unveils its AI Accelerator

Universal Robots, the Danish collaborative robot (cobot) company, has presented for the first time the UR AI Accelerator – a ready-to-use hardware and software toolkit created to further enable the development of AI-powered cobot applications.

Designed for commercial and research applications, the UR AI Accelerator provides developers with an extensible platform to build applications, accelerate research and reduce time to market of AI products.

MiR to unveil new ‘mobile collaborative robot’ at Madrid trade show

Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR) has unveiled its new innovation – the MC600 mobile collaborative robot (cobot), the latest addition to its growing list of MiR Go Approved products.

The new machine probably fits the new and distinct category of “industrial mobile robot”, or IMR, as defined in the relevant ANSI/RIA standard.

Capable of handling payloads up to 600 kg (1322 lbs), the MC600 combines the MiR600 mobile robot base with the UR20/UR30 collaborative robot arms from Universal Robots (UR) to automate complex workflows in industrial environments.

Delta Electronics unveils new collaborative robot integrating Nvidia simulation technology

Delta Electronics, a Taiwanese provider of robotics and power management solutions, has unveiled what it describes as “a major advancement” in robotics simulation.

Its flagship product, the D-Bot Series Collaborative Robots (cobots), now integrates with Nvidia Omniverse – a platform of application programming interfaces (APIs), software development kits, and services that enable developers to harness Universal Scene Description (OpenUSD) for physical AI – and Nvidia Isaac Sim, a reference simulation platform built on Omniverse for designing and testing robots.

Omron releases new collaborative robot with ‘greater reach and heavier payload’

Omron has unveiled the latest addition to its S-Series collaborative robot range – the Omron TM25S.

Kawasaki Robotics unveils new collaborative robot designed in partnership with Neura Robotics

Kawasaki Robotics will demonstrate new additions to its extensive robotics portfolio, including the new CL Series of intelligent collaborative robots (cobots).

Universal Robots increases payload capacity for its cobots

Universal Robots, the collaborative robot company, is increasing the payload capacity on its new-generation, high-payload cobots UR20 and UR30, enabling customers to lift more at no additional cost.

The updates raise the total payload, including end-effector, to 25 and 35 kgs respectively when utilizing the cobot in top lift position. This is especially useful for palletizing applications and solutions.

Bota Systems unveils new force-torque sensor for heavy payloads

Bota Systems, a pioneer in multi-axis force-torque sensors, has launched the SensONE T80, specifically designed for larger cobots. Featuring ISO-standard flanges on both sides, the sensor simplifies integration and ensures superior accuracy even with heavier payloads.

The SensONE T80 is equipped with ISO-9409-1-80-6-M8 flanges, directly matching the mounting flanges on the latest UR20 and UR30 collaborative robots from Universal Robots, eliminating the need for an adapter.

ABB launches ‘groundbreaking ultra accuracy’ feature for GoFa collaborative robots

ABB Robotics has launched “Ultra Accuracy”, which it describes as a new industry-leading feature for its GoFa collaborative robot range.

The industrial giant says that Ultra Accuracy delivers “the highest level of precision available in cobots, enabling over 10 times greater path accuracy compared with other cobots on the market”.

Andrea Cassoni, global head of collaborative robots for ABB Robotics, says: “As industries look to automation to enhance product quality and achieve tighter tolerances – continuously decreasing the maximum allowable deviation from the standard in quality control – there is a growing need for robots that can perform tasks with exceptional precision.
