Miso Robotics opens Series E funding round after already raising $50 million

Miso Robotics, the robotics company specialising in the restaurant industry with, is opening its Series E funding round after raising more than $50 million through equity crowdfunding in its Series C and D.

The company is aiming to raise $40 million this round and plans to use the new capital to more rapidly satisfy the product demand it is facing in the marketplace, as well as grow its workforce, which has more than tripled in size in the past year.

How Robotnik’s RB-KAIROS+ mobile manipulator can helps improve productivity in SMEs

A recent Roland Berger study, which analyses the impact of robotics in logistics, provides some interesting data in this regard.

It indicates a cost reduction of between 20 percent and 40 percent and an improvement in productivity of between 25 percent and 70 percent.

ANYbotics unveils new four-legged robot for oil rig inspection

ANYbotics, a Swiss robotics company, has introduced ANYmal X, describing it as “the world’s first Ex-proof legged robot”.

ANYmal X now makes it possible for the oil and gas and chemical industries to automate routine inspections, thereby increasing safety and operational effectiveness, says the company.

Skyline Robotics unveils ‘world’s first high-rise window-cleaning robot’ Ozmo

Skyline Robotics has unveiled “the future of window cleaning” with Ozmo, describing it as the “world’s first high-rise window-cleaning robot”, and investors are taking notice. (See video below.)

The company has closed a successful pre-Series A funding round led by Standard Industries with contributions from Karcher New Venture and Gefen Capital.

Skyline will use the funding across a variety of business operations including expanding its New York City team, as well as continued product development and new capabilities to own the facade operations of the future. Kuka owner Midea unveils new household robot

Midea Group, a massive manufacturing company known mainly for making household appliances like washing machines and for being the parent of industrial robot giant Kuka, has unveiled a new product in the household robotics space.

The Chinese company has released details of its next-generation robot vacuum cleaner, the S8+ auto-dust-collection robot, made by Midea Robozone Technology, a subsidiary of Midea Group. The S8+ joins Midea’s intelligent cleaning product line that provides optimum performance covering all household cleaning solutions.

Hyphen raises $24 million to commercialise automated kitchen system

Hyphen, an automation company that uses software and robotics to help improve efficiency and consistency in commercial kitchens, has raised $24 million in Series A financing led by Tiger Global, with participation from Steve Fredette, the co-founder and president of Toast, Inc.

Existing investors who also participated in this oversubscribed round include Marc Rowan, co-founder and CEO of Apollo Global Management; Donald Moore, former chief culinary officer and EVP at The Cheesecake Factory; and more.

Hyphen has raised $34.4 million to date and will use the funds to build out their factory, expand into new markets, invest in research and dvelopment for next-generation products, and deploy with customers across the United States. White Castle orders 100 fast-food robots from Miso Robotics

White Castle, an American fast-food restaurant chain specialising in burgers and fries, has ordered 100 “Flippy 2” robotic frying cells from Miso Robotics, a company which has developed a range of robotic systems for the catering industry. (See video below.)

White Castle has almost 400 locations across the US and approximately 10,000 employees. With the installation of the robots – mainly the “Flippy 2” model (main picture) – many of its employees who were on frying duty will be put to different tasks. The company has been testing Miso robots since September 2020, and upgraded to Flippy 2 in November last year. .

Jamba and Blendid expand pilot launch of robotic smoothie kiosks to more locations

Health food and smoothie specialist Jamba and robotics company Blendid have added two new “Jamba by Blendid” autonomous robotic kiosk locations.

The new locations at Georgia College in Milledgeville, Georgia and Kennesaw State University in Marietta, Georgia mark the first Jamba by Blendid openings on college campuses, expanding beyond the current pilot locations in a shopping mall and big box retailer.

The company calls this a “significant step” as Jamba and Blendid continue to explore opportunities to open more Jamba by Blendid kiosks in a variety of non-traditional venues, including gyms, hospitals, airports, and more. STIHL acquires stake in line-marking robot maker TinyMobileRobots

German industrial group STIHL, a manufacturer of chainsaw power tools, forestry machinery and robotic lawn mowers, has made a significant investment in the Danish robotics company, TinyMobileRobots.

STIHL says its robotic lawn mowers “share a strong technical kinship” with the advanced and fully autonomous line-marking robots produced by TinyMobileRobots, which are intended for use in sports fields, road construction, agriculture and other sectors.

Roameo security robot patrolling theme park in US

Roameo, a security robot developed by Robotic Assistance Devices, is patrolling a Six Flags Magic Mountain theme park in the United States, according a report on the InsideTheMagic.net website, which adds that the company is hoping to persuade the Disney company to introduce it to its massively popular theme parks.

Roameo has attracted a lot of attention from other companies and high-profile clients in recent months, and is currently operating at a number of locations.

In November last year, a Romanian security company called Civitas, one of the largest security companies in the country, ordered one Roameo 2.0 unit, with a further commitment to purchase three more units in the future. [Read more…] about Roameo security robot patrolling theme park in US
