Brain Corp partners with Dane Technologies to launch new robotic retail solutions

Brain Corp, an autonomous technology company, has unveiled its BrainOS InventoryAI Suite, a retail inventory analytics solution designed to analyze inventory data captured by autonomous mobile robots running on its platform.

It also unveiled the “Dane AIR”, a purpose-built inventory scanning robot developed in collaboration with Dane Technologies.

Currently, the majority of retailers manually track in-store inventory by deploying associates to meticulously identify inconsistencies amongst tens of thousands of SKUs, looking for issues with product availability, price tags and product locations. Abu Dhabi gears up for grand finale of Mohamed Bin Zayed International Robotics Challenge

After two years of intense competition, five international finalists have travelled to Abu Dhabi for the final live demonstration phase of the Mohamed Bin Zayed International Robotics Challenge (MBZIRC).

The five finalists will showcase autonomous robotic solutions for critical, real-world problems faced by the maritime sector, with a chance to win a first-place prize of $2 million – from a total pot of $3.25 million.

MBZIRC is an international robotics competition held every two years, drawing participation from universities, research institutions, companies, and individual innovators from around the world to develop solutions to pressing global challenges. Badger Technologies and Stop & Shop introduce ‘Selfies with Marty the Robot’ for charity

Badger Technologies, a product division of Jabil and pioneer in retail robotics, is joining forces with grocery retail chain Stop & Shop to increase support for Stop & Shop’s “Feed it Forward” charitable giving initiatives while reinforcing the positive impact Marty the Robot has made on customers and communities.

Stop & Shop is an Ahold Delhaize USA company with nearly 400 stores across the Northeast. Marty’s presence in a large majority of Stop & Shop stores strengthens operational efficiencies and helps Stop & Shop serve those in need.

Nidec develops vacuum-resistant liquid crystal substrate transfer robots

Nidec Instruments, a wholly owned subsidiary of Nidec Corporation, has developed liquid crystal substrate transfer robots that can move their joints in a vacuum environment “as freely as in the air”.

In a process to manufacture liquid crystal, organic electroluminescent (EL), and other displays, mother glass substrates are constantly required to be made larger, and their processing speed faster, as their production cost must be reduced and screen sizes must be made larger at the same time.
