Premier Design + Build Group has broken ground on a building expansion project for Sumitomo Drive Technologies in Glendale Heights, Illinois.

The work is designed to meet the evolving needs of the client, whose Midwest-manufactured products are in high demand from customers across a range of industries.

The company’s Glendale Heights location is used for light manufacturing of gearmotors, also known as “speed reducers”. Astrodyne TDI opens ‘cutting-edge manufacturing facility’ in Malaysia

Astrodyne TDI, a manufacturer of power electronics, power distribution units, and EMI filters, has opened its new “state-of-the-art manufacturing facility” in Penang, Malaysia.

This development marks a “significant milestone in our company’s growth and commitment to serving our customers with leading-edge manufacturing capabilities”, it says.

Munich Airport and Dabico agree to develop autonomous passenger boarding bridges

Munich Airport says it plans to build “fully automated passenger boarding bridges” under an agreement with its Terminal 2 subsidiary and Dabico Airport Solutions Germany.

On the occasion of inter airport Europe 2023 in Munich, Munich Airport, together with its Terminal 2 subsidiary and Dabico Airport Solutions Germany, today signed a letter of intent (LOI) to develop an innovative concept for fully automated passenger boarding bridges.

With the LOI, the two companies announce that they will determine the requirements for autonomous operation of the passenger boarding bridges and will use the results to jointly develop a pilot system for Munich Airport. ABB plans stunning new robotics hub in Sweden as part of $280 million investment in Europe

Industrial power and automation giant ABB is planning to invest $280 million to expand its manufacturing footprint in Europe and build a stunning new state-of-the-art facility in Västerås, Sweden – the ABB Robotics European Campus.

The Campus will serve as the hub for ABB Robotics’ offering in Europe, providing customers with AI-enabled collaborative and industrial robots, as well as digital solutions to support flexible automation as part of the company’s “local for local” production strategy.

Ascento rolls out latest security patrolling robot with new $4.3 million funding round

Enhanced Security Automation: Lexington Police Urges Integration of Home Security Cameras

The Lexington Police Department is asking residents to register their private security cameras to gain an extensive database of potential video footage that could assist investigations.

FireFly Automatix launches ‘first’ commercially available autonomous electric mower

FireFly Automatix has showcased its M100-AV mower at the recent Turfgrass Producers International convention at DeBuck’s New Lawn Sod Farm, Belleville, Michigan.

This commercial reel mower cuts a 100-inch width, adding to FireFly’s line of autonomous mowers. The M100-AV is FireFly’s first all-electric vehicle (EV), promising energy savings and environmental benefits.

Scott DeBuck, owner of this summer’s TPI’s host farm, says: “I am highly impressed by the innovative FireFly reel automatic mower. Rocsys raises €33 million for its robotic electric vehicle charging system

Rocsys, a provider of autonomous charging solutions for electric transportation, has closed a €33 million Series A funding round.

Led by SEB Greentech Venture Capital, the round also includes participation from Graduate Entrepreneur, the European Investment Bank, and returning investor Forward.One.

With this latest investment, which includes a roughly equal split of debt and equity financing, Rocsys will expand the capabilities of its platform as it rapidly scales its presence in the United States and Europe.
