Richtech Robotics signs ‘multi-million-dollar sales agreement’ with Beijing company

Richtech Robotics, a Nevada-based provider of AI-driven service robots, has signed a multi-million-dollar sales agreement with Beijing Tongchuang Technology through its Chinese joint venture, Boyu Artificial Intelligence Technology.

The agreement, valued at over $4 million, includes the purchase, service, and software licensing of products from three of Richtech’s key product lines: Adam, Scorpion, and Titan.

The deal expands the company’s footprint in China and opens the door for additional potential opportunities across the Asian market. The agreement is expected to increase the company’s fourth quarter revenue as well as to drive recurring revenue moving forward. Kuka receives follow-up order for robotic friction welding cells from major automotive manufacturer

Following a major order last year for 23 friction welding cells with integrated robots for the electric vehicle production of a major automotive manufacturer in the US, Kuka has now received a follow-up order for 12 additional cells for a production expansion.

The delivered cells will be installed and commissioned in stages by August 2025. The FSW cells (FSW stands for friction stir welding) with Kuka KR Fortec robots and clamping devices tailored to the welding process will be integrated into production lines for electric vehicles, where they will be used in several manufacturing steps:

The robots in the cells weld battery cases together and, in a second production stage, connect cooling water jackets to the battery cases. Kuka is also responsible for the entire friction stir welding process, including assembly, commissioning, training, and final acceptance at the customer’s site. Neura Robotics and HD Hyundai partner to bring humanoid robots to shipbuilding

Neura Robotics has signed a strategic agreement with HD Hyundai Samho and HD Hyundai Robotics to develop and test humanoid and quadruped robots for use in the shipbuilding industry.

The partnership, announced during the Automatica trade show in Munich at the end of June, brings together German cognitive robotics expertise and Korean shipbuilding and automation capabilities.

MIT engineers design new handheld interface that gives ‘anyone the ability to train a robot’

Teaching a robot new skills used to require coding expertise. But a new generation of robots could potentially learn from just about anyone.

Engineers are designing robotic helpers that can “learn from demonstration”. This more natural training strategy enables a person to lead a robot through a task, typically in one of three ways: via remote control, such as operating a joystick to remotely maneuver a robot; by physically moving the robot through the motions; or by performing the task themselves while the robot watches and mimics.

Learning-by-doing robots usually train in just one of these three demonstration approaches. But MIT engineers have now developed a three-in-one training interface that allows a robot to learn a task through any of the three training methods.
