Robots increasingly taking over film camera work

Robots are increasingly taking over from what has traditional been the preserve of human creative people – film camera work.

According to a company called SISU Cinema Robotics, more and more film creators are turning to automated systems for recording moving images.

MIPI introduces new networking tech that doubles mobile data transfer rate to 23 gigabits per second

The MIPI Alliance, an international organization that develops interface specifications for mobile and mobile-influenced industries, has unveiled a major update to its MIPI M-PHY physical-layer interface for connecting the latest generation of flash memory-based storage and other high data rate applications in advanced 5G smartphones, wearables, PCs, industrial IoT, and automobiles. 

Version 5.0 of the M-PHY interface adds a fifth gear – “High Speed Gear 5” (HS-G5) at 23.32 Gigabits per second (Gbps) – enabling engineers to double the potential data rate per lane compared with the previous specification. Foxconn invests in wireless power startup’s $25 million Series B funding round

Powermat Technologies, a wireless power technology startup, says Foxconn has made a “significant investment” as part of a $25 million Series B round.

Foxconn Interconnect Technology, the contract manufacturing giant’s connectivity solutions developer,took part in the funding round along with Hudson Sustainable Group, a founding shareholder of Powermat.

Powermat’s innovative wireless power technology is a critical enabler of the smart mobility, autonomous robotics, industrial drones, medical devices, telecom, and internet of things industries, where Powermat is experiencing exponential growth.
