Intrinsic and Google DeepMind unveil AI breakthrough for multi-robot orchestration

Intrinsic, a robotics software company owned by Alphabet, parent company of Google, has announced a major advance in artificial intelligence that enables multiple industrial robots to work together in shared environments without colliding.

The development stems from long-term research led by Google DeepMind Robotics – now apparently rebranded as Gemini Robotics – in collaboration with Intrinsic and University College London.

RoboDK launches new training academy to ‘bridge the global robotics skills gap’

OpenMind raises $20 million to ‘connect all thinking machines’ through its robot operating system

OpenMind, a company that describes itself as “unlocking machine agency at scale”, has closed a $20 million funding round led by Pantera Capital.

By building open systems, shared intelligence, and decentralized coordination, their goal is to “connect all thinking machines”. In other words, the company wants to provide an operating system for robots, particularly humanoid robots.

The company also received strong backing from industry leaders Ribbit, Coinbase Ventures, HSG, DCG, Pebblebed, Topology, Primitive Ventures, Lightspeed Faction, Anagram and notable angels. Realbotix adds multilingual functionality to its Aria humanoid robot

Realbotix has introduced multilingual functionality to its flagship humanoid robot, Aria, enabling it to communicate in 15 core languages and more than 147 dialects in real time.

The US-based robotics company, known for its work in “emotional AI”, says the feature is aimed at expanding Aria’s use across global industries such as hospitality, healthcare, education, and entertainment.

Andrew Kiguel, Realbotix’s chief executive and a former investment banker, says the upgrade allows Aria to “build emotional rapport across cultures”, a key differentiator from many robotics companies focused on manufacturing or logistics. Augmentus raises $11 million to scale physical AI for complex robotic surface finishing and welding

Augmentus, the developer of an intelligent no-code robotics solution, has raised $11 million (SGD $14 million) in a Series A+ funding round.

The funds will be used to accelerate regional deployment of its fully autonomous robotic surface finishing and welding systems, fulfill demand from marquee manufacturing customers, and advance R&D into hyper-adaptive, AI-driven robotic systems built for the factory floor.
