Kollmorgen AKM2G Launch copy

IMS Gear relies on Kollmorgen’s motion control solution for its test bench technology – AKM servo motors for simulating loads: one of the typical tasks of the AKM servo motors on the test benches at IMS Gear involves simulating loads. By Thomas Sautter, sales manager Germany, Kollmorgen

Employees in the test room constantly face the challenge of testing components and assemblies before the peripheral equipment associated with these – that is, the subsequent overall product – is even available for real.

When employees are testing power assisted steering, for instance, driving situations need to be simulated precisely even though the associated car is not even on the market yet.  [Read more…] about Kollmorgen servo drives ‘simulate road behavior’

Foldable touchscreens: New materials pave the way for a breakthrough

December 12, 2018 by Anna

Foldable smartphones, tablets and screens are finally becoming a reality. Now there is a need for robust conductive materials in touch displays so that the new technology will function reliably.

For a display to be foldable at all, each of its components must be robust and flexible. With the fundamental shift from glass to plastic in displays, the main challenge is to employ materials that are necessary for foldable displays.

The new Clevios HY E from Heraeus Electronic Chemicals is a hybrid material consisting of silver nanowires for higher conductivity and conductive PEDOT polymers as a flexible binding agent that allows for a smaller bending radius.
