Harnessing Deep Reinforcement Learning and Online Analyzers for Scalable Process Optimization in the Age of Sustainable Manufacturing

July 14, 2025 by David Edwards

The global shift towards sustainability, coupled with fluctuating raw material prices and intensified market competition, has transformed the landscape of industrial process optimization.

The imperative is clear: increase efficiency, minimize maintenance overhead, and reduce environmental impact – all while maintaining profitability.

To navigate this narrow operational corridor, modern industrial systems require a sophisticated combination of real-time analytical insight and intelligent, adaptive control. The creation of new AI careers: 4 high-paying jobs that didn’t even exist five years ago

July 5, 2025 by David Edwards

As artificial intelligence continues to transform nearly every sector of the economy, it’s not just machines that are evolving – job markets are too.

While fears of AI replacing workers still dominate headlines, a quieter revolution is under way: the rapid emergence of entirely new, high-paying roles built around leveraging, managing, and guiding AI systems.

Experts at software development firm Azumo have identified four distinct AI-powered professions that didn’t exist just five years ago. These roles offer six-figure salaries and represent the cutting edge of human–AI collaboration – not competition. Genesis AI raises $105 million to build ‘universal’ robotics foundation model

July 1, 2025 by Sam Francis

Genesis AI, a global physical AI research lab and full-stack robotics company, emerged from stealth today with a mission to unlock unlimited physical labor.

The company is building a universal robotics foundation model (RFM) and a horizontal robotics platform, raising $105 million co-led by Eclipse and Khosla Ventures, with participation from Bpifrance, HSG, and visionary leaders Eric Schmidt and Xavier Niel.

Physical labor contributes an estimated $30-40 trillion to the Global GDP, yet over 95 percent of it remains unautomated due to the limitations of current automation solutions. Today’s robotic systems, such as industrial arms, rely on brittle, rigid, and overfitted software stacks. Google DeepMind launches new vision language action model to ‘put AI directly into local robotic devices’

June 26, 2025 by Sam Francis

Google DeepMind has introduced an efficient, on-device robotics model designed for general-purpose dexterity and rapid task adaptation.

This new offering, known as Gemini Robotics On-Device, is an optimized version of the Gemini Robotics VLA (vision language action) model, which was initially launched in March to integrate Gemini 2.0’s multimodal reasoning into physical applications.

Gemini Robotics On-Device is specifically engineered to operate locally on robotic devices, ensuring robust performance in environments with limited or no network connectivity and providing low-latency inference crucial for sensitive applications. Scribenote launches free AI solution that turns veterinarians’ words into structured notes

June 26, 2025 by Sam Francis

Veterinarians typically spend hours after appointments writing medical records, often working late into the evening to complete documentation. It’s a broken system that contributes to widespread burnout across the profession.

Scribenote, a company with an AI-powered scribe built specifically for veterinarians, is flipping the economics of veterinary software by launching a Free Plan, a move that could fundamentally alter how veterinary clinics across North America operate.

The announcement comes as Scribenote experiences significant growth following its $8.2 million funding round from Andreessen Horowitz in September 2024. The platform turns veterinarians’ words into structured SOAP notes in seconds, eliminating hours of post-appointment documentation. Beyond Beeps and Boops: Why Natural AI Voice is Critical for Next-Gen Robotics

June 25, 2025 by Sam Francis

Today’s robots aren’t limited to the factory floor – they’re guides at airports, assistants in hospitals, and companions in homes.

As engineers have refined their mechanics and coding, there remains one aspect keeping them from really flawless human interaction: voice. Not merely the capacity to speak but the capacity to sound natural.

We are moving into a new era where computer-generated voices must reflect true human expression – warmth, hesitation, excitement, and empathy. [Read more…] about Beyond Beeps and Boops: Why Natural AI Voice is Critical for Next-Gen Robotics

Maximizing ROI with AI in Electrical Takeoff

June 20, 2025 by Sam Francis

In the world of construction and electrical work, precision is key. Getting an accurate electrical takeoff – calculating the materials and labor needed for a project – can be the difference between staying on budget and facing costly overruns.

Traditionally, this process involved hours of manual counting and calculating, which was time-consuming and prone to errors.

The technique is now quicker, more precise, and more effective thanks to the development of electrical takeoff software. [Read more…] about Maximizing ROI with AI in Electrical Takeoff
