Addverb ‘reinvents’ its factory automation development with Siemens Xcelerator

Addverb Technologies, an Indian warehouse automation company, is using software from the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio to “deliver intelligent automation solutions faster and more efficiently while maintaining high product quality and scale its automation offerings across diverse industries globally”.

Addverb has adopted Siemens’ Teamcenter software for Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) to streamline product development, ensure data consistency, and enhance cross-functional collaboration across engineering and manufacturing teams.

Additionally, Tecnomatix Plant Simulation software from Siemens enables Addverb to virtually design, validate, and optimize entire production systems and logistics processes before building any physical hardware. Sinbon doubles US manufacturing footprint to ‘meet growing demand in industrial robotics, automotive, and renewable energy sectors’

Taiwanese electronics system integrator Sinbon Electronics says it plans to build a new 59,000-square-foot facility in Clayton, Ohio, more than doubling its US manufacturing footprint.

Backed by approximately $8.5 million in investment, the expansion into the revamped facility is expected to bring jobs to up to 200 total at the facility and enhance production for key US industries, including smart manufacturing, automotive, and renewable energy.

The launch represents a major milestone in bolstering Sinbon’s innovation for US customers, regional supply chain resilience, and long-term regional presence. Mars company to invest $2 billion into US manufacturing operations

Mars, the globally recognised maker of more than 40 snacking, food and pet brands in the United States, including M&M’s, Snickers, Pedigree, Sheba, and the Mars bar itself of course, has unveild plans to grow its US-based manufacturing by investing an estimated $2 billion into its operations across the country by the end of 2026.

This multi-billion-dollar investment builds on the ongoing Mars commitment to US-based manufacturing, where 94 percent of Mars products sold in the US are produced locally in the US.

Trump sons launch SPAC to invest $300 million in US manufacturing

Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. have joined forces as advisers to a new special-purpose acquisition company (SPAC), New America Acquisition I Corp., which launched a filing Monday for a $300 million IPO on the New York Stock Exchange targeting US manufacturers.

According to the SEC filing, the SPAC aims to acquire one or more businesses with a combined enterprise value of at least $700 million, focusing specifically on companies that contribute to revitalizing domestic manufacturing, strengthening critical supply chains, and expanding innovation ecosystems, especially in sectors like aerospace and critical minerals.

Florida deploys robot rabbits to lure invasive Burmese pythons in the Everglades

In a new twist in Florida’s long-running battle against invasive Burmese pythons, wildlife officials are turning to an unexpected ally: robot rabbits.

Outfitted with heaters, subtle movements, and artificial scents, the decoy rabbits are designed to mimic real prey – specifically marsh rabbits, a natural food source for pythons.

Lely launches three new robotic solutions for milking cows

Lely has launched three new robotic solutions for milking cows. Both Astronaut A5 Next and Astronaut Max build on the success of the Astronaut A5 milking robot. In addition, the Lely Hub was also launched, and is described by the company as “an essential data safety device for farmers”.

These solutions are designed to meet the evolving needs of modern dairy farming, with a strong focus on improving animal welfare and farmer prosperity. Lely says it is taking “the next step towards the realisation of the Farm of the Future”.

OpenMind raises $20 million to ‘connect all thinking machines’ through its robot operating system

OpenMind, a company that describes itself as “unlocking machine agency at scale”, has closed a $20 million funding round led by Pantera Capital.

By building open systems, shared intelligence, and decentralized coordination, their goal is to “connect all thinking machines”. In other words, the company wants to provide an operating system for robots, particularly humanoid robots.

The company also received strong backing from industry leaders Ribbit, Coinbase Ventures, HSG, DCG, Pebblebed, Topology, Primitive Ventures, Lightspeed Faction, Anagram and notable angels.
