IIOT trends in 2022

June 8, 2022 by David Edwards

The Covid-19 outbreak has forced industries to automate processes with Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT) and digitize their operations as much as possible.

Within manufacturing and supply chain industry, most organizations have taken measures to transition to Industry 4.0 so they can continuously automate and improve conventional industrial and manufacturing processes and cut down wherever possible during this recession.

Following are a few IIOT trends that we are hoping to see for the rest of 2022. [Read more…] about IIOT trends in 2022

NTT training robots to become data center workers

February 23, 2022 by Mai Tao

NTT, the national telecommunications provider of Japan and one of the largest such companies in the world, is training industrial robots to become data center workers.

The company has a separate business division for data centers called Global Data Centers and says its global platform is “one of the largest in the world”.

Its data centers tend to be huge facilities and are “expensive to run”, mostly because of the massive amount of electricity necessary and the cooling infrastructure, not to mention the sheer floor space required. [Read more…] about NTT training robots to become data center workers

Purdue scientists build a chip that makes connections like a human brain

February 18, 2022 by David Edwards

An electronic chip that can be reprogrammed on demand may enable artificial intelligence to learn more continuously like the human brain does, researchers have discovered.

When the human brain learns something new, it adapts. But when artificial intelligence learns something new, it tends to forget information it already learned.

As companies use more and more data to improve how AI recognizes images, learns languages and carries out other complex tasks, a paper published in Science this week shows a way that computer chips could dynamically rewire themselves to take in new data like the brain does, helping AI to keep learning over time.
