Prime Vision and VDL bring sorting robots to the US

VDL Groep and Prime Vision have been jointly producing robots for the American market.

Delft-based Prime Vision has developed the Robotic Sorting concept, the sorting of shipments by so-called Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs).

Locus Robotics opens European headquarters in Amsterdam

Locus Robotics, a maker of autonomous mobile robots for fulfillment warehouses and distribution centers, is opening its European headquarters in Amsterdam.

The new facility will support Locus’s existing EU and UK customer base and develop new opportunities within the fast-growing European warehouse fulfillment and distribution segments.

Rick Faulk, CEO of Locus Robotics, says: “Our decision to expand our presence in the European market was a logical step in our business growth strategy.

Evocargo unveils autonomous logistics vehicle

Startup company Evocargo has unveiled its autonomous logistics vehicle. The company says it is now ramping up its presence in global smart logistics market.

Evocargo presented its Unmanned logistics platform Evo.1 at the recent Expo 2020 Dubai event.

Speaking at the Dubai Exhibition Center, the founder and chief business development officer of Evocargo International, Andrey Bolshakov, presented a smart logistics service based on self-produced unmanned electric logistics platforms. Geek+ introduces robotic picking for e-commerce operations at CEVA warehouse

Geek+, a maker of autonomous mobile robots, says it has successfully installed its AMRs in a CEVA Logistics warehouse in Truganina, located in Melbourne, Australia.

CEVA is a global third-party logistics (3PL) provider looking for new and innovative automation solutions to better serve its Australian e-commerce clients.

Starship Technologies launches robot delivery service at South Dakota State University

Starship Technologies has rolled out its robot food delivery service on the campus of South Dakota State University. SDSU becomes the first campus in the state of South Dakota to implement robot food delivery service.

Starship’s fleet of 30 autonomous, on-demand robots will deliver from three campus eateries to start: Grille Works, Papa Johns and Starbucks. Additional locations will be added soon.

The school’s nearly 14,000 students and faculty can now use the Starship Food Delivery app (iOS and Android) to order food and drinks from local retailers to be delivered anywhere on campus within minutes. Serve Robotics provides delivery robots to Uber Eats

Serve Robotics, a developer of sidewalk delivery robots, is partnering with Uber Technologies, which is said to be the world’s largest food delivery and ridesharing platform.

The on-demand robotic delivery service will be available to Uber Eats customers starting in Los Angeles early next year.

Serve Robotics says it is “shaping the future of sustainable, self-driving delivery”. Founded in 2017 as the robotics division of Postmates, Serve is now an independent company on a mission to make delivery more affordable, sustainable and accessible for everyone. Autonomous electric truck startup Einride launches in the US

Einride, a Swedish freight technology company that provides digital, electric, and autonomous shipping, says its transportation solutions are now live and running in the United States.

In conjunction with the official launch, Einride has also signed an impressive list of versatile partners including technical partners Ericsson and Siemens as well as customers Oatly, Bridgestone and GE Appliances, a Haier company.

Berkshire Grey launches new robotic shuttle solution

Berkshire Grey, a provider of AI-enabled robotic solutions that automate supply chain processes, has launched its Robotic Shuttle Product Sortation (RSPS) solution for order fulfillment.

The system supports filling e-commerce orders through stores and in-person shopping by automating store replenishment, allocation order processing, split-case cross docking, sortation, and packing.

RSPS increases processing capacity and throughput for existing operations without adding labor, helps right-size store inventories, and enables e-commerce fulfillment from stores to scale.
